What Triggers Notifications

Notifications are created automatically by the system whenever something important happens to your child's account. They don't need to check manually — the notification bell shows a red badge with the count of unread notifications.

Notification Event Types

• Card Delivered: When you send a reward card to your child, they see who sent it and the card name
• Effect Activated: When a shop effect starts, showing the discount type, value, and how long it lasts
• Purchase Rejected: When you decline a shop purchase request, so they know to try again later
• Stickers Changed: When stickers are added or removed from their balance, with the amount and who made the change
• Achievement Reached: When they hit a goal target, celebrating their accomplishment
• Task Failed: When a task deadline passes without completion, so they know what they missed

The Notification Bell

Your child will see a bell icon in the app header. A red badge appears when there are unread notifications, showing the count (up to 99+). Tapping the bell opens a dropdown showing the most recent notifications. The app checks for new notifications every 30 seconds, so updates appear quickly.

Managing Notifications

When your child opens the notification dropdown, all unread notifications are automatically marked as 'seen' — the red badge clears. They can also dismiss individual notifications by tapping the trash icon next to each one. Dismissed notifications are hidden permanently, keeping the list clean and relevant.

Tips for Parents

Notifications make the reward system feel responsive and engaging. When you deliver a card or approve a purchase, your child gets instant feedback. This immediacy strengthens the connection between effort and reward. Consider delivering cards when your child is using the app — they'll see the notification pop up in real time!
